Outdoor cooking has become increasingly popular in recent years. More and more people are discovering the pleasure of preparing meals in the open air, whether it’s barbecuing, cooking over a campfire, or using an outdoor kitchen.
Cooking outdoors also provides a wonderful opportunity to gather with friends and family. It is a social activity where everyone can get involved in preparing the meal. Moreover, it’s a fantastic way to enjoy nature and the outdoors.
In short, outdoor cooking is a trend that is expected to continue for some time. It brings people together, creates delicious dishes, and allows us to enjoy outdoor living.
With this in mind, we have thought about what we believe the perfect outdoor kitchen should look like. The timeless appeal of wood and steel was to be the guiding principle. The result is this 1.8-meter-long kitchen with a space in the middle for a kamado BBQ. In this case, a 16" medium kamado from Yakiniku, which we can provide upon request.
This kitchen is just an example of what is possible. In this case, the sides are finished with corten steel plates for a rusty look, and the back walls are made of hot-rolled plate. For the doors, we have chosen expanded metal with a hot-rolled plate behind it and stainless steel handles. To complete the industrial look, we have added rivets to all corners and connections. There are no visible weld seams. For the finish of the stainless steel, we use Owatrol oil. A double layer provides good protection against weather influences. Over the years, rust stains will develop, which, in our eyes, only adds to the character of the entire piece. It is advisable to place it under a shelter or in storage during the off-season.
The bottom and inner sides are finished with Douglas planks and can be delivered in any desired finish. The countertop is made from four oak planks, which are finished with a yacht varnish for easy cleaning and to prevent grease, oil, or other substances from penetrating. However, if you prefer a different finish or a natural stone countertop, that is not a problem. Anything is possible!
Four sturdy black wheels allow for easy relocation.
